In the world today there six different learning theories we could use from a teaching standpoint. The two that stood out to me are cognitivist learning theory and experiential learning theory. Cognitivist learning theory found out that behaviorism did not account for all types of learning. Cognitivist means children need to explore, manipulate, question, and to search for answer by themselves. Experiential leaning theory is a holistic perspective on learning that combines experiences, perception, cognition and behavior. Experiential emphasize the central role of experience in the learning process. This is a theory that can take place inside or outside, this is while I feel this theory could be used well in physical education. The reason I choose cognitivist learning is because from a physical education view student must be able to run, job, walk, etc which is asked of the teacher.
